Inter House English Concords: Grand Finale Competitions in River Dale

Friday, 21st July,2017 – The Inter House Concords: Grand Finale Competitions were held in Riverdale High School amidst the battle of words and the winning fervor. The formal welcome was done by the Principal. The Inauguration of the event was done by lighting of the lamp at the hands of the dignitaries and judges Mr. Prahlad Shastri, Mr. Abhay Srivastav and Mrs. Rashmi Srivastav. Hon .Director Dr. D. Mittal welcomed the judges with bouquets and mementos.

The Semi Finals had been conducted before in school and eight finalists for each event namely- Poetry Recitation: Class- I to IV: individual recitation and class recitals, Class V-VI: Advertisements, Class VII-VIII: Half a minute, Class IX-X: What is the Good Word? in which the finalists performed at their best and received many appreciations.

H.M. Dr. Sulekha Sharma-Dhage declared the overall results. In individual recitation Tanishka Dixit, Sumiya Reem, Isha Lokhande and Manasi Nimbulkar, Mansi Kolhe were the winners respectively from class I to IV.

In Advertisement, Atharvaved House achieved the first rank. Aditya Kolhe won the competition of Half a Minute and in What is the Good Word , Srushti Deshpande carved her name on the winning trophy. Overall winner house was Saamved house.

An eye catching Western dance was performed by the dancing champs of Riverdale along with harmonious group song presentations. Dr. D. Mittal with his inspiring words addressed the parents , students and teachers. In his speech he said ‘‘These kinds of functions make a big difference in student’s life. So more and more students should participate in such competitions.” Principal Mrs. Jaishree Gujar conveyed the importance of English as well as briefed how English was derived from other languages of the world & how has it achieved its importance throughout the world

Judges Mr. Shastri and Mr. Srivastav also appreciated the efforts taken by the students and congratulated them all. The programme was anchored by the students Poornima Dwivedi, Fatema Hussain, Jahnvi Paikrao, Shubh Srivastav and the teacher Mrs. Ashwini Hinge. Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Vice Principal Mr. Ganesh Tarate. The programme proved to be a cooling shower of intellects for all.
