Gandharva Sangeet

A very unique feature of Riverdale High School .Riverdale High School is working as a Centre for Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal. Students from our school appear for various exams of Vocal , Tabla and Bharatnatyam through this centre till #rd level i.e Praveshika Purna. Since 4 years we are running this centre so that the students are introduced to the rich tradition and culture of Abhijaat Sangeet. These exams are based on the classical aspect of these art forms. Every year around 200-250 students are appearing for different levels of exams. Students from 3rd standard are introduced with the syllabus of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and gradually till 5th or 6th standard they complete their 3rd level exam.

A special provision is made in the time table for completion of syllabus of these exams. Every year students pass with distinction and first class.

Exams are conducted at National Level through regional Centre’s but Riverdale is the only school where this faculty is available for students through school.
